Introduction
iSee VC Pty Ltd (ABN 70 166 827 318) (iSee VC or our, us, we) recognises the importance of your privacy and understands your concerns about the security of the Personal Information (as defined below) you provide to us.
As a small business, we are presently exempted from the operation of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). The APPs detail for regulated businesses how Personal Information may be collected, used, disclosed, stored and destroyed and how an individual may gain access to or make complaints about the Personal Information held about them. We strive to operate our business in a manner that upholds the principles contained in the APPs.
iSee VC operates the following businesses, and provides the following products and platforms (Platforms):
• https://iseevc.com;
• https://iseelive.com; and
• https://ic2live.com.
This Privacy Policy sets out how we manage Personal Information received from you and about you, in connection with your use of our Platforms.
In this Privacy Policy:
• Personal Information is information or an opinion about an identified individual, or about an individual who is reasonably identifiable; and
• Sensitive Information, a sub-set of Personal Information, is information or an opinion about an individual’s racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, political association membership, religious beliefs or affiliations, philosophical beliefs, professional or trade association membership, trade union membership, sexual orientation or practices or criminal record and includes health information and genetic information.
What Personal Information we collect and hold?
The kinds of Personal Information we collect from you or about you depends on the enquiry you have made of us, the transaction you have entered into with us and the Platform you or your organisation is using or is in interesting in using.
In the course of operating our business and providing our Platforms, we endeavour to collect business information only. However, the collection of Personal Information in some instances is necessary or unavoidable.
If you are a prospective or current customer / subscriber of ours, then the types of Personal Information that we commonly collect and hold from you or about you includes: your name, address, phone numbers, email address, account username, account password, account PIN, audio and/or video recording of your voice and likeness. Your payment details for the purchase of subscriptions to our Platforms (eg, credit card details) are processed by Shopify and are not held by iSee VC.
How we collect and hold Personal Information
We aim to collect Personal Information only directly from you, unless it is unreasonable or impracticable for us to do so. For example, we collect Personal Information from you or about you from:
• enquiries, orders, subscriptions and other correspondence that you submit to us;
• telephone calls, consultations and meetings with us;
• your requests to join our mailing lists and subscription services;
• your use of and interactions on our Platforms; and
• your use of, interactions with and activity on our websites and social media channels.
You can be anonymous or use a pseudonym when dealing with us and when using our Platforms (eg, preferred screen names), unless:
• the use of your true identity is a legal requirement (eg, to verify your identity and/or to process your payments); or
• it is impracticable for us to deal with you on such basis.
There may be situations where you volunteer or choose to share Personal Information within our Platforms (eg, when you host or participate in any virtual meeting, event or conference or when you use any ‘chat’, ‘text’, ‘audio record’, ‘video record’, ‘upload’ or ‘desktop share’ feature, etc). Additionally, depending on the version of the iSee VC Platform you use, audio and video recordings and your uploaded content, may or may not be stored by iSee VC. Regardless of the iSee VC Platform you use, please note that any participant may choose to use their own, independent ‘screen capture’ or recording system as installed on their own device. We encourage you to carefully consider the type and extent of Personal Information that you are prepared to share within our Platforms and with third party participants and to exercise discretion, as we do not control, provide oversight, or provide live moderator services in respect of your or other participants’ use of these features.
There may also be situations where Personal Information about you is provided to us by other users of our Platforms (e.g. when they invite you to join a virtual meeting, conference or event).
iSee VC does not seek, nor knowingly collect Personal Information from or about children and minors. If you choose to include children and minors in your virtual meeting, event or conference or allow them to use any Platform features, we encourage you to carefully supervise their activities and interactions.
If we receive unsolicited Personal Information about you:
• we will assess whether we could have collected the information directly from you; and
• if not, then we will destroy or remove identifying components in the information as soon as practicable, but only if lawful and reasonable to do so.
Why we collect, hold, use and disclose Personal Information
We collect, hold, use and disclose Personal Information from you or about you where it is reasonably necessary for us to carry out our business functions and activities. For example, we collect, hold, use and disclose your Personal Information as necessary to provide, operate and monitor our Platforms and to administer your iSee VC account.
If we do not collect, hold, use or disclose your Personal Information or if you do not consent, then we may not be able to answer your enquiry, complete the transaction you have entered into with us or provide the Platform(s) or offering for which you or your organisation have contracted or subscribed.
Generally, we do not (and do not aim to) collect Sensitive Information from you or about you. However, in the rare instance where this information may be required or desired or if you voluntarily provide it to us, we will specifically seek your consent.
We also collect, hold, use and disclose your Personal Information for related purposes that you would reasonably expect, such as our administrative and accounting functions, business operations, record keeping, payment processing and fraud checks, statistical collation, social media analysis and website traffic analysis. We will also provide you with periodic updates and information about improvements to our offerings, the content and functionality of our Platforms, technical support and troubleshooting, as well as the opportunity to participate in customer/user feedback and product performance and development surveys.
Where we wish to use or disclose your Personal Information for other purposes, we will obtain your consent, unless the use or disclosure is otherwise permitted by law (e.g. to lessen or prevent a serious and imminent threat to life, health, individual safety or public safety).
Where we use your Personal Information to keep you updated about our newsletters, marketing and promotional activities and market research, you may opt out at any time by notifying us. Opt out procedures are also included in our marketing communications.
We will disclose your Personal Information to third parties (including government departments and enforcement bodies) where required or permitted by law or where it is reasonably necessary to provide and operate our Platforms. We will
also disclose your Personal Information to our contracted third party service providers, who include AWS, Shopify, Survey Monkey, LiveKit.io and neon.tech.
How we hold and store Personal Information
Your Personal Information is held and stored on paper, by electronic means or both. We have physical, electronic and procedural safeguards in place for Personal Information and take reasonable steps to ensure that your Personal Information is protected from misuse, interference and loss and from unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. For example:
• data held and stored on paper is stored in lockable filing cabinets. Our premises has secured entry and monitored alarms.
• we use offsite secure archive facilities for longer-term storage of paper records.
• data held and stored electronically, including “in the Cloud”, is protected by internal and external firewalls, limited access via file and network passwords and files may be designated read-only or no access.
Destruction and De-identification
We will retain your Personal Information whilst it is required for any of our business functions or for any other lawful purpose.
We will take reasonable steps and we will use secure methods to destroy or to permanently de-identify your Personal Information when it is no longer required for any purpose for which the Personal Information may be used under this Privacy Policy and otherwise in accordance with the guidance of the Privacy Act and the APPs.
As an example, our destruction and de-identification methods may include:
• paper records being placed in security bins and shredded; or
• electronic records being deleted from all locations, to the best of our ability, or encrypted and/or placed beyond use.
Australian and Overseas disclosure
In the course of operating our Platforms, we may store your Personal Information both locally and overseas and/or disclose your Personal Information to third party service providers (whether located in Australia or overseas). For example, in our Platform infrastructure:
• we use the Shopify payment gateway, and a range of associated third party Shopify apps (in United States of America);
• audio and video capability is hosted by LiveKit.io (in United States of America);
• our subscriber database is hosted on neon.tech (in United States of America); and
• various operational components are hosted on AWS (in Australia).

iSee VC will not sell your Personal Information to third parties for benefit, service or reward.
iSee VC may share and disclose your Personal Information with both related bodies corporate and with third party entities as part of a corporate restructure or a sale or purchase of the iSee VC businesses and/or Platforms and/or assets.
Cookies and third party links
When you use our Platforms, browse our websites, contact us electronically, or engage with us on social media we may also record geographical tagging, cookies, your IP address and statistical data from your activity. This information will relate to whichever electronic device you have chosen to use. We will treat such device information as Personal Information to the extent the device information is reasonably capable of identifying you. We may use your Personal Information to customise and improve your user experience on our Platforms, websites and other social media channels. By using our offerings, you agree that we may record this information from your device and access them when you visit the site in the future. If you want to delete any cookies that are already on your computer, please refer to the help and support area on your internet browser for instructions on how to locate the file or directory that stores cookies. Please note that by deleting our cookies or disabling future cookies you may not be able to access certain areas or features of our Platforms and websites.
Our websites may also contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our sites, you should note that we do not have any control over those other websites. Therefore, we are not responsible for the protection and privacy of any Personal Information which you provide whilst visiting such sites, and such sites are not governed by this Privacy Policy. You should exercise caution and review the privacy statement applicable to the website/s in question.
Requests for access and correction
We will take reasonable steps to ensure that the Personal Information we collect, store, use or disclose is accurate, complete and up to date, having regard to the purpose of the use or disclosure.
We rely on the Personal Information we hold about you to efficiently provide our Platforms. For this reason, it is important that the Personal Information we collect from you is accurate, complete and up-to-date. To assist us to keep our records up-to-date, please notify us at support@iseelive.com of any changes to your Personal Information.
We have procedures in place to deal with respond to requests from you to access and/or correct the Personal Information held about you. In most cases, we expect that we will be able to comply with your request. However, if we do not agree to provide you access or to correct the information as requested, we will give you written reasons why we cannot take such action. Complaints and Concerns
We also have procedures in place for dealing with any complaints or concerns you may have about our privacy and data protection practices. We will respond to your complaint in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Privacy Act and the APPs. For further information, or to make a complaint, please contact us support@iseevlive.com. We would obviously like to be the first to know if you are dissatisfied with our practices and to have the opportunity to respond.
However, where eligible, if you remain unhappy with our response, you have the right to escalate your complaint or concern to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) using the details below.
