iSeeLive runs in the browser and is designed to work on any setup that would be normally used for video conferencing. You will need a device with a front facing camera, microphone and speakers or a headset.

This means iSeeLive is designed for use on everyday Desktops, Laptops, Tablets and Phones.

iSeeLive is officially supported on:

Device:

iSeeLive uses 3D game technology that performs better with a faster processor, faster graphics processor and more system RAM.

Excellent Performance:

Gaming laptops or tablets

Good Performance:

Most recent laptops, tablets and phones with >8GB RAM

Adequate Performance:

Newer Chromebooks with >4GB RAM

Poor performance:

Older Laptops, Chromebooks and Tablets with <4GB RAM

Special Note for iPads and iPhones:

iOS can close the iSeeLive browser tab without warning if the iSeeLive session has a lot of content and iOS system RAM is low. We recommend >8GB RAM on iOS devices and avoiding sessions with a lot of custom 3D models loaded.

Network:

For adequate performance we recommend at least 5Mb/s download and 1Mb/s upload speed per device.

iSeeLive rooms open in your browser via a URL. This URL will either be provided by your Teacher or Host, or will be provided automatically if you are connecting via a Learning Management System (LMS) link.

The URL contains your role information, the access time for which the link is open, and may require you to log in using your school or iSeeLive username and password details.

In iSeeLive you can load both 2D and 3D content into your room. To load content you will need to have the permission of your Teacher or Host.

2D Content

To load 2D content you first create a Smartboard and size/place it where you want in the space. You can then click on the board top right hamburger menu to upload image or multipage .pdf files, or share your camera or screen.

3D Content

You can load 3D content into the environment and size/place it as desired. 3D models can be loaded from the inbuilt content library, or imported from your device in .glb or .fbx format.

The great thing about iSeeLive content is that you can customise your space with your own content. This can be both 2D content like images, information and live screen shares; as well as 3D content like scenery and objects.

The amount of content you can place in a room is limited by the RAM limit of the browser tab (2GB) and available machine RAM (can be significantly lower than 2GB on some devices).

In general, the more content you add to a room the longer it will take to load and the more pressure it will place on lower end devices. Custom uploaded 3D objects take up significant RAM and should be avoided if you know you will have users with low end devices or iPads.

Rooms with up to 20 loaded smartboards and 20 3D models from the library will run fine on almost all devices.

To ensure good performance for everyone iSeeLive places limits on the 3D model size - both in terms of the size of the mesh that forms the shape of the 3D model and the texture that colours the model.

For .fbx models the materials and textures must be embedded in the model to display properly.

Resizing models:

For use with iSeeLive ensure that the output file size is below 47MB, the texture is set to 1024x1024 or lower and the output mesh is below 220,000 triangles.
